Grants for landcare and agricultural shows

Australian grants

There are two grants currently open supporting agriculture in very different ways.

The National Landcare Program Smart Farms Small Grants (round three) aims to increase farming, forestry and fishing communities’ awareness, knowledge, skills and capacity to adopt best practice sustainable agriculture. And the Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants Program is open to regional show societies for the maintenance and upgrade of existing infrastructure.

Regional Show Societies can get support for building, purchase, rent or construction of new infrastructure related to the running of an agricultural show on regional showgrounds and applicants should note the objectives of the program which are to keep agricultural shows running, bring communities together and bridge the divide between country and city.

By contrast, the National Landcare Program Smart Farms Grants have two outcomes which are the increased adoption of best practice sustainable agriculture as well as to increase the capacity of land managers to adopt best practice sustainable agriculture.

The National Landcare Program grants close 19 December and the Regional Agricultural Show grants close 13 December.

Both programs have an online application portal.
