It’s grant writing season. That time of year where government agencies and bureaucrats are trying to get money out the door before 30 June rolls ’round. Here’s a round-up of some of the grants that are open to community groups like yours, right now.
Regional Arts Fund Project Grants
Supports projects which benefit the community, increase access and participation, and/or provide direct benefits to artists/arts workers. Applications close 18 March 2021 and grants up to $30,000 are available. Open to regional artists, arts organisations and communities. Check it out.
Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grants
Assists regional artists, arts organisations and communities to take up professional / skills development or small projects. This is a rolling fund and applications close 7 May or whenever funds are expended. $3000 available for individuals and $5000 for organisations. View the grant details.
Budget Direct Sponsorship
Budget Direct offers one-off sponsorships of up to $5000 for organisations that provide community services, community education, promote health and wellbeing, advocate for road safety, provide emergency services, support at-risk Australians and build strong, vibrant communities. Applications close 31 March and 30 June 2021. More.
Small Business COVID-19 Adaptation Grants
$2000 to $10,000 is available for businesses and not-for-profits with payroll less than $1.3 million who’ve had to adjust to COVID. Supports businesses to pay for services such as financial advice, operating costs, strategic planning, marketing, communication, digital technology, digital re-training, upskilling or digital equipment to move operations online. Coles Nurture Fund
Small and medium sized businesses can apply for a grant of up to $500,000 to help them develop new market-leading products, technologies and processes. Applications close Friday 19 April. Get more details.
RACQ Community Grant Program
RACQ Foundation supports community groups, charities and sporting clubs to rebuild after cyclones, severe storms, bushfires and drought.There are three application rounds per year and the next one closes 2 August 2021. Applications for between $50,000 – $100,000 are accepted. More at the RACQ Foundation website.
NAB Foundation Grants
Community Grants of up to $10,000. for projects that help communities prepare for natural disasters, support long-term recovery and build resilience to future disasters. Applications close 31 March and 31 July 2021. Get all the details.
ANZ Community Foundation
Grants of up to AU$30,000 to community projects that assist local communities to thrive. Applications close 1 April 2021. Check out the grant details.
Outback Queensland Education Experience Program
This program encourages teachers to take their students to Outback Queensland and integrate its rich history and heritage into classroom learning. The scheme provides a subsidy of up to $150 per student to assist towards a school camp in Outback Queensland. The scheme only applies to trips to certain shires. This is a rolling fund and you can apply anytime. Get more here.
Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants
Grants of $1000 support primary schools and early learning centres to inspire kids to get hands-on with sustainable food production, waste management and native habitats. Additional $500 bonus if your project has a bee-related component. Applications close 19 March.
Ian Potter Foundation Sustainable Environment Grants
Supports ambitious and transformative environmental initiatives: support for the environment sector, applied environmental science research and on-ground conservation. You must speak with Program Manager prior and next step is to submit an expression of interest. Applications close Thursday 1 April. Large grants of $100,000+ are available.
Norman Wettenhall Small Environmental Grant Scheme
Providing support for projects (usually under $10,000) that make a positive difference to the natural living environment. Projects must be directly making positive changes to biodiversity conservation in Australia. Next round opens 1 April 2021.
Copland Foundation Acquisitions Grants
Assists galleries, museums and historic houses to acquire objects that may come up at auction. Applications are ongong and considered at any time of the year. All applications must be set out on the appropriate form which requires a description of the object, provenance, a full condition report, as well amount applied for and the benefits of its acquisition to the applying institution. 1000 Jobs Package Grant
Increases employment opportunities in remote Australia for Community Development Program (CDP) participants. Eligible employers receive support of up to $56,000 (over 2 years) to help hire a CDP participant in a new, ongoing job located in a CDP region. Applications close 30 April 2021.
Indigenous Native Food Program
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and innovators can apply for support to develop and commercialise native food products. Applications for this pilot program are ongoing and open now.
Global Fund for Women Grants
Grants fund bold, ambitious, and expansive gender justice movements to create meaningful change that will last beyond our lifetimes. Grants range from $5000 – $30,000 per year. Applications are ongoing.
Tackling Tough Times Together Grants
Helps communities support one another through the ongoing effects of drought. Grants are available for grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities. Applications are ongoing basis and assessed quarterly. Applications for projects over $150,000 are due 13 April with all others due 24 May 2021.
Strengthening Rural Communities
Gives small rural, regional and remote communities in funding for broad community needs. Applications close 25 May 2021. Small and large grants are available.
