Enhancing cross-cultural awareness and respect for cultural diversity is at the centre of an Australian Government grant program.
The Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program: Community Languages Multicultural Grants aims to build the capacity of community language schools to delivery high quality education around languages.
The Community Languages Multicultural Grants program aims to maintain and develop languages other than English as well as connect young Australians to the languages and cultures of their community.
$10 million is available over two years, with up to $25,000 available per grant, to develop resources or training which benefit the community language sector.
Priority will be given to applications from organisations applying as a consortium, and applicants receiving endorsement from national or state peak bodies related to community languages will be looked upon favourably.
There are a tonne of resources on the grant’s website, to help you navigate the application process, including guidelines, Q+As, sample grant agreements and budget template.
Applications for the Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program: Community Languages Multicultural Grants close 6 March, 2020.
