Samantha Morris, Managing Director
Samantha Morris is a communication and engagement specialist who has worked in the community sector for more than 20 years.
Most of her career has been spent working with conservation and land management groups on communication, fundraising and engagement strategies and she’s won several awards recognising her work in that space. She’s worked inhouse for organisations like Greening Australia and Landcare Queensland, has been Chair of Queensland Conservation Council and has even done a stint as a public servant in the Queensland Government.
For the past 12 years she’s been the Managing Director of Wombat Creative, a boutique consultancy that helps communities across Australia achieve sustainability goals through strategic fundraising, events, media, communication, facilitation, writing, social media and online strategies.
In 2013 she and a friend also launched a print magazine focused on the Gold Coast’s music and cultural scene. Blank GC has become the City’s cultural voice and has grown its readership to more than 40,000 people a month in print and another 30,000 online and has reached more than 25% of the Gold Coast population.
In 2015 she also launched the annual Gold Coast Music Awards which has engaged thousands of music lovers across the City as well as national music media. She is also a freelance writer for a range of other publications – both environmental and cultural.
Sam won a Queensland Young Australian of the Year award for her environmental work in 2001, was named one of Queensland’s Champions of Conservation in 2013 and won a Golden Gecko Award for environmental work in 2015. Her magazine, Blank Gold Coast was Magazine of the Year in the Gold Coast Media Awards 2016 and 2018.
Samantha holds a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from University of New England along with a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessing, a bronze medallion and qualifications in telephone counselling and facilitation.
Chloe Popa, Creative Director
Chloe has worked in natural resource management for more than ten years and grew up on a farming property in the Darling Downs. Chloe has held roles as Manager Landcare Queensland and Communication Manager for Desert Uplands and has worked directly with regional NRM bodies as well.
Chloe is an experienced and creative graphic designer, co-founder of Blank GC and the Gold Coast Music Awards and has a wealth of knowledge related to applying design to community projects such as large low-budget events, fundraising appeals and lift-pieces, social media campaigns and community engagement.
Chloe holds a Bachelor of Environmental Management – Sustainable Development from the University of Queensland along with a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (March 2006).
Kylie Cobb, Publicist
KYLIE COBB has been hailed by music media as one of the leading women behind Australia’s booming music scene, and she is on a mission to power-up creatives, strategically and of course, creatively. With degrees in International Business and Education, a spell as a primary school teacher, over 10 years in corporate marketing and three years specialising in the music industry, Kylie is a go-to media and marketing expert.
She is an adept story-teller and delivers perfect content for cash-strapped creative workers and artistic and social enterprises.
